Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents and students need to know before joining ChessHub Academy.
Getting Started
ChessHub Academy is designed for students aged 6 to 18. We have specialized programs for different age groups and skill levels, from complete beginners who have never touched a chess piece to advanced competitive players targeting FIDE ratings. Our youngest students are 6 years old, and we have adult learners as well.
Absolutely not. Our Beginner Foundation program starts from complete zero — no prior chess knowledge is needed. Our coaches are experienced in teaching young learners from the very first move. If your child already knows the rules, we will assess their current level and place them in the most suitable program.
Getting started is simple. Click "Book Free Demo" on our website, fill in your details, and select a time slot that works for you. Our team will confirm your booking within 24 hours and send you all the information needed to join the session. After the demo, if you'd like to enroll, we will guide you through the process.
Classes
All classes are conducted live via Zoom with a maximum of 6 students per group session to ensure personal attention. Each session includes direct instruction, interactive puzzles, game analysis, and Q&A time. Students can also see live chess moves on a shared digital board during lessons.
All live classes are recorded and made available to students within 24 hours. If your child misses a session, they can watch the recording and complete any assigned homework. We also offer make-up sessions for missed classes upon request, subject to coach availability.
Pricing
Yes! We offer a completely free demo class with no commitment required. You can book your free demo session through our website. This gives your child the opportunity to experience a real class, meet the coach, and decide if ChessHub Academy is the right fit — with zero risk.
We offer monthly and quarterly payment plans. Monthly plans provide maximum flexibility, while quarterly plans come with a discount. All payments are processed securely. We accept major credit/debit cards and bank transfers. There are no hidden fees or lock-in contracts.
Coaching
All ChessHub Academy coaches are FIDE-rated, with titles ranging from FIDE Master to Grandmaster. Each coach undergoes a rigorous selection process including chess skill assessment and teaching methodology evaluation. Our head coach is a FIDE Grandmaster with over 12 years of coaching experience.
Yes. Parents are welcome to observe any class, especially during the first few sessions. We believe in full transparency with parents and encourage open communication. You will also receive regular progress reports and have access to class recordings at any time.
Progress
We use a comprehensive progress tracking system. Students complete homework assignments on Lichess (a free chess platform), solve daily puzzles, and receive detailed feedback from coaches after each class. Monthly progress reports are shared with parents, covering tactical skill, opening knowledge, game quality, and overall development.
Technical
A computer or tablet with a stable internet connection and a webcam is all that is needed. We recommend a laptop or desktop for the best experience. A physical chess board at home is beneficial but not required. All chess software (Lichess, Stockfish analysis) is free and web-based.
ChessHub Academy is a fully online, international platform. We welcome students from any country in the world. Our current student community spans 20+ countries including India, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, UAE, Singapore, Germany, Spain, and many more.
